team has initiated an orderly, on-going risk management/hedging program designed to protect cash flows,
fund capital expenditures, and to pay dividends.
Surge is currently accepting applications for the position of Reservoir Simulation & EOR Consultant
(Two-month contract).
The position will report to the Vice President, Production. Working with various technical departments, this
role will focus on reservoir modeling and Waterflood optimization. The consultant will be required to
utilize their own software for the duration of the contract. Primary scenarios include:
Optimal well spacing, frac’d vs. unfrac’d wells and hz waterflood
Inject into the original verticals and then drill hz infill wells
Review pool optimization and design criteria
Review mature waterflood performance
Validate static geologic model and predict reservoir performance under primary and secondary
recovery schemes; as well as creating conceptual development plans for new fields.
Optimize and perform multiple sensitivities on 3D reservoir simulation and flow system models
for development and/or exploration programs
Benchmark, evaluate and advance reservoir engineering technologies, methods, and
Perform end-to-end modeling and optimization workflows on specific assets, understand and
disseminate model and decision insights, and quantify the economic impact the optimizations
will have
P.Eng. designation from APEGA
5 years’ directly related experience with reservoir modeling and simulation
Proven ability to work effectively within a team and interface with other teams
Proficient with simulation software
Ability to take a large suite of data and make recommendations in a short time period
