Reservoir Simulation Engineer - Contract - MelbourneOur client an integrated operating company with an established Subsurface Team is seeking a Reservoir Simulation Engineer to join them in the Melbourne office.As the successful Reservoir Simulation Engineer you will be required to build and maintain reservoir simulation and integrated production models, representing the company in joint venture technical and business forums. You will provide recommendations on new opportunities and arising technical issues and clearly communicate progress on ongoing projects.Responsibilities: You will be required to build and maintain reservoir simulation models of multiple large fields. Be comfortable with working interactively with other subsurface discipline team members to update models with new data as it becomes available.In addition, maintain integrated/multi-field production forecasting models and generate production forecasts to support future development analysis and economics.Demonstrable skills and knowledge:Reservoir SimulationIntegrated Production ModellingWell Hydraulics ModellingPressure Transient AnalysisReserves Assessment and ReportingEquity Unitisation and RedeterminationReservoir Management and SurveillanceLNG Project Operations SupportCore Analysis and Fluid Analysis. Understanding of Drilling operations and Formation Evaluation techniques.Strong oral and written communication skills along with data analysis skills via use of tools such as Excel.Background:Engineering degree with relevant industry experience of more than 10 years in reservoir engineering.At least 5 years’ experience in a variety of reservoir simulation and geological modelling software packages across multiple worldwide geological settings in both carbonate and sandstone environments.Summary:This is an attractive opportunity to work with a large and structured organisation with a truly global footprint. This role has the opportunity for a contract of 12 months with option to extend. A high level of understanding and exposure in conventional oil and gas is essential.
