In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals. The role affords the opportunity to interact with GE’s world-class Global Research Centers Essential Responsibilities: - Provide consultation and technical direction to the engineering team on near-term and longer-range projects with substantial business impact
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers
- Remain current in the state-of-the-art within own technical specialty for new product introduction activities, performance improvements, cost reductions and problem resolutions
- Develop long term strategic roadmaps for upstream technologies for reservoir, downhole, artificial lift, enhanced oil recovery, and other Oil & Gas related topics
- Make recommendations after analysis of the data using quality tools
- Organize technology theme workouts/training modules as required.
- Participate in teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues
- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
- Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
- Function as an independent resource and technical support contact for other GE businesses and internal /external customers
- Is responsible for compliant and high-quality engineering solutions delivered to customers
- Protects the Intellectual Property rights of the Company
- Participates as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
- Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards and product requirements Qualifications/Requirements: - Master’s in Petroleum/ Mechanical/Chemical Engineering
- 8+ years of experience in NTI, NPI, or research projects in Oil & Gas or related industries
- Good working knowledge of the following: reservoir characterization and monitoring, enhanced oil and gas recovery, downhole sensing, artificial lift techniques, geophysical technologies, flow assurance, well drilling and completion, and gas processing and sweetening. Other related fields such as software & analytics may also be needed
- Demonstrated ability to influence and/or lead small to medium sized project teams
- Ability to meet engineering schedule demands in a dynamic environment with multiple customers (strong project and time management skills)
- Ability to work with local, remote and cross-cultural teams
- Strong listening, questioning, clarifying and summarizing skills to effectively communicate in 1-on-1 and small group settings
- Experience with full product life cycle design using 3D modeling in a production environment is a plus
- Solid oral and written communication skills
