Reservoir Surveillance and Management Lead
Member of the Asset management team reporting directly to the Asset Manager but responsible to Head of Subsurface.
Manage a team of Reservoir and Petroleum Engineers:
Maintain surveillance programme to manage all PM304 producing reservoirs within RMP
Maintain production and pressure databases
Prepare short-term and long-term production forecasts for liftings, budgets and long
Prepare End of Year Reserves
Maintain the flow of data between Partners, Petronas and internal stakeholders.
On top of individual technical position, specific responsibilities for a team lead:
Responsible for team planning – works, budgets, staffing levels
Responsible for delivery against plan and overall team performance
Responsible for maintaining plan, reflecting any changes in a timely fashion
Coordinating and participating in relevant peer review and other milestones as required to meet business and quality objectives
Primary reporting is through business unit/asset; quality of technical work and staff development/resourcing will be via reporting to Technical Functional Head or Technical Director depending on seniority.
To steer and encourage staff to find innovative ideas and solutions to allow aggressive pursuit of exploration, appraisal, or development opportunities and actively drive conversion of discovered hydrocarbon volumes into proven reserves.
Delivery of reservoir management plans to optimise stakeholder interests and value.
Manage the team to deliver against the plan, and update as appropriate.
Ensure technical quality control; maintain technical standards, monitor, recommend and apply best practices.
Ensure a comprehensive range in subsurface understanding is passed to production forecasts, ensuring input, approaches and assumptions used are consistent.
Participate in cross-asset Peer and Technical Reviews as required.
Contribute as required to Asset Documentation.
Strictly adhere to Corporate and Departmental HSE policies & guidelines.
Provide technical endorsement for related HSE critical activities.
Mentoring & developing young Malaysian staff will be an integral part of job.
Desired Skills and Experience
Degree in relevant subsurface discipline (reservoir/petroleum engineering) or equivalent.
Minimum 10 years relevant practical experience in a relevant technical discipline.
Sound cross discipline skills, with an understanding from geoscience through reservoir engineering to petroleum and well engineering.
A good understanding of upstream processes
Extensive knowledge of and working experience in all aspects of petroleum engineering, field development and ongoing production management through to abandonment
Practical knowledge/experience of well-site operations covering formation evaluation and data acquisition & processing (corresponding to drilling, LWD/wire-line (open hole and cased hole logging, coring, completions, testing, PVT & SCAL analysis, well testing, handover, lab testing etc.)
Practical knowledge of well design and associated flow assurance issues (inc. Gas Lift Design, Sand Control, Corrosion, scale, wax etc.).
Experienced in production enhancement justification and operations including: gas lift optimisation, perforations, scale & wax removal, stimulation
Experienced in building and maintaining strong relationships with Government, JV partners and Service Providers and managing associated contractual arrangements.
Clear understanding of hydrocarbon resource estimation and reserves audit procedures.
Be self-motivated to accomplish world-class results, generally positive in outlook, and able to cope in a dynamic environment.
Possess, or strive to possess, skills in project and team management, including planning of works, budgeting and control against plan and budget
Have a sufficiently broad experience base to be able to exercise independent thought and decision making.
Good interpersonal skills, including ability to plan and present a coherent story to both direct reports as well as partners and management.
Computer literate and have a strong written and verbal command of English.
