Start your career with a recognized leader of coupled reservoir and geomechanical modeling in the oil and gas industry. At CGG you will learn to create reservoir and geomechanical models for the engineering of safe and optimized reservoir operations. You will utilize and develop an advanced, coupled reservoir and geomechanics simulator adding new physics as required by consulting projects. You will learn to apply this leading edge software to engineering problems and work with a team of engineers to ensure a high quality, timely, and cost effective engineering product to clients.
This role requires that you work as part of a team of engineers and geoscientists, dedicated to producing high quality models. Emphasis will be on managing day-to-day operations of large projects, providing optimal quality control, problem identification and defining ideal solutions. You will also work closely with our software development team to develop new algorithms and techniques to enhance CGG software tools. You will work to ensure that our clients receive a timely engineering product that exceeds their expectations for quality.
Graduate (MSc. or PhD) degree in Reservoir Geo-mechanics, Engineering, Physics or other related technical degree
Minimum 5 years’ experience
Must have strong math and excellent problem-solving skills
Must have a strong background in numerical modeling, geo-mechanics and continuum mechanics
Team player that is a quick learner, with strong communication, organizational and presentation skills
Geo-mechanical modeling experience, specifically with ABAQUS and CMG STARS
Experience with programming in C/C++ and Fortran preferred
Experience in script programming using Matlab and Python preferred
Must have good communication skills for client presentations
Must have the legal right to live and work in Canada
