Our client is a global player with over 45,000 employees working in 70 different countries. They are at the forefront of innovative and integrated interpretation technologies and software, and are currently restructuring and growing fast.
To complement their existing asset consultancy team, based in Moscow, they are now looking to recruit a qualified and experienced Reservoir Simulation Engineer, to undertake full asset evaluations on behalf of clients. Typically these are long-term projects and cover assets in Russia, Kazakhstan and the CIS region in general.
As a key member of this multi-disciplined team, your role will be to provide reservoir management expertise to optimise the long-term value of the client’s assets, including the building and running of simulation models to optimise reservoir development plans. Naturally you will need to have good technical experience in using reservoir simulation tools, such as VIP or Eclipse, together with a strong understanding of industry workflows and ‘oil life cycle’s’ in order to develop a life of field reservoir management strategy etc.
Strong interpersonal skills are required, as is a proven knowledge of compositional reservoir processes and the ability to construct and debug numerical simulation models independently. The ability to work within a high-performance team consisting of geologists, geophysicists and geoscientists is a must, but you would also need to be motivated and able to work and travel on your own, when required. The ability to learn new software and adapt to changes in software packages is vital.
This is a prestigious position within a market leader and suitable candidates will be qualified to degree level in Petroleum Engineering or a related technical subject and have a minimum of 10 years relevant experience within the oil & gas industry together with substantial “hands on” experience in the building and evaluation of reservoir simulation models. Additional knowledge and expertise in the areas of compositional simulation and modeling of natural or artificial fracture systems would be advantageous.
