If you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and make a difference, please apply! We are looking for a qualified and motivated Reservoir Engineering Technologist who will be based in Plano, TX.

Position Summary:
The Reservoir Engineering Technologist will provide direct support to the company’s reserves management, well performance diagnostics and acquisition evaluations. Using technology and managing databases, the Reservoir Engineering Technologist will work in support of the timely delivery of the reserves reporting requirements, creation and maintenance of tools to assess well performance, evaluation of acquisition opportunities and surveillance of competitor performance.

Single point of accountability for the ARIES reserves database. Responsible for the maintenance, updating and ensuring accuracy of the reserves database for all assets. This includes but is not limited to setting up new wells, reserve category changes, updating of working interests, payout status, workover events on existing wells, and following up on missing inputs as needed. Ensure production for producing wells is up to date to facilitate updating forecasts and decline curve analysis. Regularly cross-reference multiple systems for data integrity and consistency.
Help manage corporate reserves and support the reserves reporting process to satisfy internal and external obligations. Play a key role in the reserves reconciliation, SMOG and EIA 23L reports and support financial reporting (S-1) updating as required. Work with third-party reserve engineering firms to ensure technical accuracy and facilitate timely delivery of reserve reports.
Develop, maintain and optimize tools for well performance diagnostics. Gather, organize, and manage data in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, SQL and Spotfire.
Assist in the updating of the Competitor evaluation tools to include but not limited to ARIES and Spotfire. Identify recent filings for permits, spud dates, and first production. Pull updated production and completion data from public sources such as IHS.
Support the Development team in maintaining and tracking development plans to ensure alignment with reserves database. Collaborate with GIS analyst to update and maintain reserves development maps, and other pertinent shape files for analysis.
Support acquisition opportunities through ARIES database set-up, production and completion data integration, evaluating and updating economic assumptions and ARIES modeling when necessary. Support Finance team in generating ARIES outputs for financial modeling.
Assist team by building and updating PowerPoint presentation slides to communicate well performance and reserves updates to management, Board of Directors and external parties as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by management and accommodate special requests by other team members.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, math or computer sciences / information technology is highly preferred.
A minimum of five years of experience as an engineering technician or engineering analyst, with an emphasis on supporting reservoir engineering functions including asset evaluations for acquisition and reserves reporting.

Thorough knowledge of oil and gas software and tools with preference given to Aries and Spotfire.
Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.

Ability to pull, manipulate, manage and analyze large sets of data.

Strong MS Office capabilities, with an emphasis on high level Excel skills and Access.

Working knowledge of SQL and petrophysical software (Petra) preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Team player and possess the ability to adapt to a dynamic working environment.
