Description

Marathon Oil's North American E&P segment is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician.  The successful candidate will support the Oklahoma Resource Basin Subsurface Team and be expected to work closely with multidisciplinary teams.  The focus of the position includes reservoir engineering support, database management and maintenance, and reserves/resource systems maintenance.  This position will report to the Portfolio Supervisor for the Oklahoma Resource Basin Team and will be located in Oklahoma City.

 

Responsibilities:

• Compile and manipulate data from a variety of sources to assist with technical analysis (e.g. AFEs, performance analysis, etc.)

• Maintain various engineering databases through thorough QC and regular updates

• Assist with reserve evaluation and booking efforts

• Work collaboratively with engineers to create data sets suitable for creation of high confidence analytical models

• Prepare various reports via Spotfire and Microsoft software suites for benchmarking

• Ability to understand and run basic economics to assist with development planning

• Identify and implement process improvements related to existing workflows

• Building effective networks within Marathon for knowledge of business processes and applications

• Provide application support to technical staff, when necessary

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Major: STEM or business preferred

 

Experience: 2+ years experience supporting multi-disciplinary teams in a technical capacity. Oil and gas industry preferred, Oklahoma development experience is a plus

 

Computer Skills: Aries, IHS / DrillingInfo, Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis in Excel and PowerPoint, Spotfire, Experience with reserves, WellView and/or SAP is a plus

 

General: Excellent oral and written communication skills, teamwork, analytical skills and strong organization & planning skills
