Position Summary
Oasis petroleum is seeking an innovative, resourceful, and detail oriented Reservoir Engineering Technician to support the Asset Management department. The selected candidate will primarily support reservoir engineers in the Reservoir Engineering group. The position will report to the Manager of Reservoir Engineering, and is located in downtown Houston, Texas. Level and salary commensurate with background and experience.
Essential Job Functions
Prepare & maintain databases of different types, including: Aries, Enersight, Spotfire, Harmony, and OFM
Monitor and report production actuals against various forecasts
Compile data and assist with preparing slides for presentations
Manage well inventory in various databases
Generate, analyze, and summarize economic sensitivities
Assist with the coordination and administer budget updates and reserve reviews
Prepare and maintain project management reports
Optimize internal processes and surveillance methods
Support engineers and management with data gathering and analysis requests
Build tools and workflows to make routine department tasks efficient and enhance analysis
Develop and maintain high quality standards for department data
Handle additional projects as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree
5 years of E&P; experience in a technician capacity
Advanced Excel, Access, and PowerPoint skills
Advanced knowledge of economics and economic applications
Advanced data management and database skills
Intermediate Spotfire and Aries skills
Intermediate skills to manipulate databases
Ability to perform complex analysis and formulate recommendations
Excellent communication skills and willingness to work in a team environment
Self-starter and process oriented
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in math, science, or computer science
10 years’ of E&P; experience in a technician capacity
Experience with budget updates and reserve reviews
Advance Spotfire and Aries skills
Intermediate Enersight skills
Experience with public information sources such as IHS
