The Permian Basin in West Texas and southeastern New Mexico is a prime example of leveraging one of the company’s large legacy positions using new technology and new ideas to test liquids-rich conventional and unconventional plays. The company holds approximately 1.0 million net acres in the Permian Basin with net production of 63 MBOED in 2017.
The company’s Permian unconventional assets offer the opportunity for future large-scale growth. Appraisal drilling results are confirming expectations and development wells are targeting the most prolific and lowest cost of supply zones. The Permian conventional operations are focused within the Central Basin Platform and Northwest Shelf. This large legacy position, mostly held by production, offers growth opportunities with development pace optionality and capital flexibility. The company has ongoing program of well workovers, artificial lift optimization and waterflood management activities to maximize the value of the existing base production. There are currently four drilling rigs working for the Company in the Permian Basin including three in the Delaware basin.
Primary responsibility of this position will be to provide reservoir engineering technical support focused on the Delaware Basin Development. The successful candidate will support a team of engineers, geologists, geophysicists focused on exploration, appraisal and development activities.
Update, create and manage production databases in Spotfire.
Work with Development teams to create visualizations in Spotfire for collaborative analysis of pilot and production data.
Collaborate with IO and IT teams on data analytics and automation projects to support development plans, well performance work and competitor analysis.
Support production forecasting work and implementation of automated forecasting techniques.
Manage reserves bookings in Mosaic and support PUD booking efforts in Delaware and Midland basins.
Provide data management support for reservoir characterization studies.
Assist engineers in all stages of development, analysis and presentation of data using knowledge of spreadsheets and other company software such as Wellview, PEEP, Mosaic, OFM, Enerdeq, and Spotfire etc.
Maintain and upgrade Permian Resource Center.
Legally authorized to work in the United States
3+ years of relevant experience on data gathering, data management and data manipulation in a variety of software applications
3+ years of experience as an Engineering Technician
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Advanced level of proficiency with Spotfire
The individual should be self-motivated and capable of independent problem solving without supervision while involving multiple groups or disciplines.
5+ years of previous oil industry experience
Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in engineering, computer-related field, earth science or geography
Experience in Mosaic & Generwell/DSO
High level of initiative, energy and creativity
Strong analytical skills with a practical approach to problem solving
Organizational skills - ability to prioritize responsibilities
