Great Western Oil and Gas is a Denver based independent exploration and production company focused on the Rocky Mountains. Today, we have active operations in the Denver-Julesburg Basin in Colorado. This role is supports the ongoing reservoir engineering functions such as reserves, type curves and economics, acquisitions, and other tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Works closely with a senior reservoir engineer on all tasks related to optimizing asset development
Reserves support – building, running, and QC of ARIES databases together with primary reserves technician
General support for reservoir engineering staff
Organize and present analyses and data outputs in graphical and presentation form
Support construction and maintenance of type curves, including assisting with decline curve forecasting, maintaining databases, and running economic scenarios
Maintain multivariate completion/production database in Access and Spotfire
Planning and budget support – gather input data from various functions, maintain Enersight database
Maintain IHS Harmony rate-transient analysis database
Acquisition analysis – build ARIES databases, gather and verify data, run preliminary economic analysis and metrics
Assist with AFE’s and lookbacks
No supervisory Responsibilities .
Minimum 2 years experience in petroleum engineering technician role
Bachelor’s degree in technical skill area such as math, science, or engineering, minimum GPA 3.0, minimum in-major GPA 3.5.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skill set, with a curiosity to keep learning
Ability to compile and present data clearly using the best available tools
Proficiency in ARIES, Access, and Excel required, proficiency in Spotfire, IHS Enerdeq, and Enersight preferred
Programming background and aptitude (experience or education) strongly preferred
Must be available for in-person interviews in Denver, Colorado
