Great Western Oil and Gas is a Denver based independent exploration and production company focused on the Rocky Mountains. Today, we have active operations in the Denver-Julesburg Basin in Colorado. This role supports our reservoir engineering team with a broad range of skills and tools.
Works closely with a senior reservoir engineer on all tasks related to optimizing asset development
Builds and maintains Enersight databases in support of planning and budgeting process
Construct and maintain databases used for analysis of production, expenses, revenue, etc.
Prepare analyses using data analysis tools like Excel and Spotfire
Organize and present analyses and data outputs in graphical and presentation form
Acquisition evaluations – build ARIES databases, gather and verify data, run preliminary economic analysis and metrics
Mentor and train less experience technicians as needed.
No Supervisory Responsibilities.
Minimum 3 years experience in petroleum engineering technician role
Bachelor’s degree in technical skill area such as math, science, or engineering
Strong analytical and problem-solving skill set, with a curiosity to keep learning
Ability to compile and present data clearly using the best available tools
Proficiency in Excel required, proficiency in ARIES, Access, Spotfire, IHS Enerdeq, and Enersight preferred
Programming background and aptitude (experience or education) preferred
