Reservoir Engineering Technician

Midland, TX

Job Summary 

  • Assists engineer(s) with economic evaluations, budgeting, reserves estimation and field studies
  • Builds and maintains complex queries, databases and economic evaluations and forecasts in Excel, Access, Aries, and OFM.
  • Gathers quality control, organization, and analysis of production, technical and economic data from both public sources and internal databases
  • Maintains technical databases on a daily basis
  • Monitors well activity including proposed work and work in progress
  • Coordinates all information from internal and external databases into report formats for review by team members
  • Fulfills data requests from other departments as needed
Education/Experience Required
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience as an engineering technician, or similar technical oil/gas role
  • Previous work experience utilizing computer systems and applications as tools for analysis
  • Demonstrated understanding of oil and gas industry terminology
  • Must be able to work in the United States indefinitely
Education/Experience Preferred
  • Experience in Access, Excel, Aries, Ops Portal, and OFM
  • 5+ years of industry experience performing the tasks listed in job summary above
Desired Skills/Attributes 
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and utilize computer systems and applications as tools for analysis
  • Understanding of oil and gas industry terminology
  • Ability to work within multi- discipline teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
