Then we have the role for you! You will lead geomechanical modelling work to understand caprock behaviour in areas being evaluated for future SAGD thermal development. You will be part of a dynamic team to design and deliver to our operational sites. You will use your expertise to: Understand and lead cap rock integrity work by designing, assessing and conducting detailed maximum operating pressure (MOP) determinations Design mini-frac testing programs to estimate formation closure stress in key areas Design and support representative lab tests to understand rock properties and rock mechanics Build statistically representative simulation grids using the Petrel earth model Numerical simulation using CMG STARS to understand caprock behavior Effectively communicate results to management and project partners Understand and steward compliance with regulatory directives Provide technical support for numerous subsurface technology projects Wed like to review your application if you have Must-haves (minimum requirements): Minimum 10 years geomechanical modelling experience Experience with key software platforms including CMG STARS and Petrel Strong communication and presentation skills Bachelors degree in engineering Registered or immediately eligible for registration with APEGA Strong technical skills in geomechanical modelling Reservoir engineering background Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present ideas and results to all levels of management Alignment with our values of: safety above all else, respect, raise the bar, commitments matter and do the right thing Preference for: We would prefer 2 or more years specific to in situ thermal operations M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field Where youll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information: You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 6th Ave S.W.
