Description

Ability to function
effectively in a Corporate Technical Services Unit working on individual
studies and closely with asset teams and building strong working relationships
with staff and management across the QEP organization. Collaborate closely with geoscientists and
reservoir, production and operations engineers on adapting and implementing
fit-for-purpose reservoir engineering technologies and practices unconventional
reservoir systems. Qualified candidates
will have the ability to contribute in a multi-disciplinary team environment,
mentor engineering and geological staff, effectively integrate across
disciplines, provide direction on strategy and planning for mid- to long-term lead
time development projects and effectively deploy value added technologies and
workflows and best practices in an operating environment.

Qualifications and Work

Experience:
15+ years’
experience in the upstream petroleum industry as a reservoir engineer with
significant experience in unconventionals, tight gas and shale resources.

Strong background in
conducting integrated reservoir studies with an expert level working knowledge
of black oil and compositional reservoir simulation and/or integrated
production modelling applied to reservoir development and reservoir / asset
management. Strong working knowledge of
well testing, special core analysis, and PVT phase behavior packages for
equation of state development and performance analysis and forecasting of
complex reservoir systems including unconventional reservoirs. Experience in application of advanced
production diagnostics, geomechanics, and completions technologies to
unconventional systems. Position
requires strong analytical skills and sound business awareness.

Expertise in
reservoir engineering, geological and geophysical reservoir characterization,
earth modelling, reservoir management and surveillance, and the ability to
design, implement, and execute data acquisition programs from field to
laboratories specifically in the areas of well testing, PVT phase behavior,
special core analysis, reservoir fluid geochemistry and flow assurance. Demonstrated abilities in planning, design
and implementation of field pilots and development campaigns and programs.

Experience team
leader and strong team player. Ability
to function independently, self-driven.
Possesses an appreciation for business and commercial drivers in
technically driven workflows. Ability to
explore and implement new technologies and workflows applied to unconventional
systems from industry, service companies, universities and consortia. Excellent written and verbal communication
skills.

Education:
MS or PhD Degree in
Petroleum, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or closely related engineering or
scientific discipline.
