You will be a member of the team to that works on technology or research and development within the in situ group. We will give you the opportunity to gain insight how petroleum engineering functions across of business operations.
You will use your expertise to:
Support technical and economic analyses of in situ technology applications
Participate in finding solutions to technical issues and in the verification of implementation of these solutions
Investigate methods of dealing with uncertainty in data and assumptions and recommend improvements in evaluation processes
Develop and handle tools for tracking process and production data for analysis and metrics reporting
Prepare and present summary reports, performance metrics reports, graphical representation and presentations as required

Must-haves (minimum requirements):
Current enrollment in a formal Master’s Petroleum Engineering at an accredited post-secondary institution, and returning to full-time studies after the work term

A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

Preference for:
Prior experience with computer science or data analytics is highly desired
Exceptional computer skills with intermediate to advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
Strong collaboration skills that enables you to build strong, positive relationships with diverse groups
A continuous improvement mindset and are able to seek greater knowledge and understanding of the systems, process and hazards in the workplace
Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:
You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
This is an 8 – 12 month work term, from May 2019 – April 2020
Relocation support will be provided if approved for the position, we offer highly competitive housing assistance to eligible candidates
