We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Reservoir Engineering Advisor within our Permian Resource Midland Basin group based in Houston, Texas.
This position will be part of a multi-discipline reservoir management team (RMT) of geoscientists and engineers involved in the assessment and development of Oxy’s operated assets in the East Wolfberry Asset Team in Midland Basin. This is a core asset in Oxy’s tight/unconventional oil horizontal development portfolio. Duties include reserves assessment, volume forecasts, project economic evaluation, development of business plans, monitoring and interpretation of new drill well and base well performance, data collection plans and implementation, and well performance analysis. Mentoring of less experienced or intern reservoir engineers within the RMT will be required from time to time. Some overnight travel to field location as appropriate

BS degree or higher in Petroleum Engineering (or related engineering discipline), with a minimum of 8 years of reservoir engineering experience. Preferably with some unconventional reservoirs experience.
Demonstrated ability to apply reservoir engineering techniques to identify opportunities and create value.
Experience with reserve estimation techniques and knowledge of SEC/PRMS reserves guidelines.
Proficiency at economic evaluation and risk/uncertainty assessment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Collaborative and effective teamwork skills.
Demonstrated creative approach to problem solving.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle some ambiguity in analysis.
Solid organizational and time management skills.
Proficient Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Ability for occasional travel to field operations
Additional Desired Qualifications:
Experience in tight oil, unconventional oil resource plays, ideally in Permian region of West Texas
Proficiency with an economics analysis software, preferably PEEP.
Experience with utilizing production database software, preferably OFM or DSS.
Experience with pressure transient analysis (PTA) and rate transient analysis (RTA), preferably using Fekete or Kappa Sapphire/Topaze software.
Data analysis experience, preferably with Spotfire.
Statistical analysis expertise a plus.
