We are currently looking for an experienced Reservoir / Petroleum Engineer with a focus on reserves and resource evaluation, to work alongside an experienced energy finance team with a major investment bank in Sydney. This role will offer the right candidate a very attractive salary package. The Company The role is working within the energy team at a global investment bank that is a recognized industry leader in the global energy sector. The company utilizes its presence in the oil and gas markets, and combines activities in the financial and physical markets to create bespoke finance and risk management solutions for clients across the energy asset field.
The company offers services and tailored solutions to clients across a range of areas which include exploration and development, production and generation, storage and transportation, marketing and retail as well as consumption. The company provides both access to specialized markets and also structured lending and financing these energy projects. Responsibilities You main responsibility will be the technical and economic evaluation of upstream assets of potential clients looking for financing. Screening new opportunities including developing detailed and reliable development plans that will become the basis for any future investments and loans Work with the other members of the finance team to appropriately structure financing facilities with regards to the risks you have identified Monitor existing portfolio of investments and loans and working with the commercial team members to ensure ongoing compliance and facilities.
Staying abreast of market developments to understand where future opportunities may exist Represent the client at Technical Committee meetings for assets where the client holds a non-operated interest. Key Requirements Reservoir / Petroleum engineering qualifications to at least a Degree or Masters level are preferred. 5 + years’ experience with strong petroleum engineering skills with a focus on reserves and resources determination/ evaluation working in the upstream Oil and Gas industry. This includes the ability to design, execute and manage exploration, appraisal and field development plans and produce forecasts and sales projections over the lifecycle of an asset.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to engage with clients and convey technical risks to non-technical team members with a commercial background. The ability to work within a multifunctional team with a high commercial focus. The ability to work semi- autonomously and solves problems, as the key technical person across the Asia Pacific region. A Strong Desire to work in a commercial setting whilst utilizing technical skills to evaluate global Oil and Gas projects.
