Kinder Morgan CO2 Company is currently seeking a Reservoir Engineer for their Midland office to support the Yates Field Unit located in Iraan, Texas. This person will be a key member of a multi-discipline team adding value to the asset through capital reinvestment and application of solid reservoir development skills. This is a forward looking position that will be tasked with identifying and bringing to the forefront technical solutions to increase the longevity and production of one of the largest oil reservoirs in the state.

Position level is commensurate with experience and skill set.
The selected candidate will be expected to interface with technical experts inside and outside the company to refine the current strategic reservoir focus. The position will also be tasked with examining the application of emerging technologies as well as re-examination and refinement of past and current operational practices.

Position Requirements

Operating background with experience in multiple reservoirs
Demonstrated ability to use petroleum engineering principles to solve problems and identify enhancement opportunities.
Experience in reservoir development practices including, but not limited to, identification of development drilling and workover opportunities (including horizontal wells).
Experience in production and water flood optimization and surveillance. CO2 flood experience a plus.
Good overall practical oilfield operations knowledge.
Ability to improve the profitability of a field using reservoir analysis.
Familiar with oil and gas reserves and economics
Familiar with drilling and well completion practices (horizontal well experience a plus)
Ability to understand typical well-logging suites.
Demonstrated initiative and results oriented team member skills.
Good written and verbal skills.
Ability to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.
Good time management skills.
Proficiency in all required technical and economic software packages.
MS-Office – working knowledge of general applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Data management & manipulation capability.
Clean driving record.

Preferred :
BS Degree in Petroleum Engineering or related degree.
MS-Access – previous exposure to move forward on tasks in a timely manner.
DSS - working knowledge of Production Management Software.
Aries and Petra experience a plus.
CO2 project exposure.
Knowledge of geologic concepts.
