Perenco is an international oil and gas exploration and production company with a head office in London. It has 17 subsidiaries worldwide including Gabon, Congo, Peru, Turkey and Vietnam and is involved in operations both onshore and offshore.
This role is key role in providing reservoir engineering expertise to international operated assets, both in production support and development activities. You will be required to complete the most appropriate evaluation and, due to the tight deadlines and limited data sets, rapid assessment of critical issues is often required using judgement based on experience.
Work within, and often lead, inter-disciplinary subsurface teams to develop reservoir models, match historical production and optimise future development through additional development and/or changes in production policy;
Preparation of reserves estimates and associated production profiles;
Well test design and interpretation;
Definition of special core analysis (SCAL) and fluid analysis (PVT) requirements and interpretation thereof;
Coordination of internal and external studies;
Review and validate reservoir models and production forecasts received from Perenco Subsidiaries.
Provide advice and guidance to less experienced engineers both within the London organisation and to Geosciences staff in the Subsidiaries;
Propose innovative solutions to production problems which are technically sound and economically attractive, presenting these to Management and, where appropriate, to partners.
Any other duties relevant to the role and/or as requested by management.
Qualifications / Experience
Diploma in an engineering or science discipline, preferably with an MSc in Petroleum Engineering
Previous experience with an oil company or with a service company involved in reservoir studies
Good Command of both the French and English Language (Business Level).
Skills / Knowledge
Track record of conducting integrated reservoir engineering studies using both analytical and simulation techniques.
Good knowledge of reserves estimation, production forecasting and preparation of field development plans.
Familiarity with relevant industry software applications, sound engineering judgement and the ability to quickly identify and quantify key business drivers from a subsurface perspective, combined with a high degree of computer literacy.
