Description

Job Role Summary

  • Ensuring proper implementation of established reservoir management strategies and surveillance plans including short-term adjustments to cater for operational constraints without compromising longer-term reservoir recovery
  • Ensuring that wellbore hydraulic models are accurate, up to date and accessible to Asset Level Team (ALT) technical staff via defined repositories/locations
  • Collaborating with multi-functional team(s) to identify, execute opportunities, and optimize well performance
  • Identifying, validating, analyzing and uploading pressure data including clarification/validation of Pressure-Volume-Temperature (PVT) assumptions for fluid density, downhole parameters and determination of missing parameters when required
  • Coordinating monthly or periodic teleconferences with the ALT technical staff to discuss analysis, recommendation and potential next steps for analyzed wells/reservoirs
  • Capturing, issuing and stewarding to close minutes and action items from the monthly teleconference
  • Interacting with Global Upstream Engineering contacts, as and when required

Expected Level of Proficiency

  • An honors degree in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent from a recognized university
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Upstream engineering and operations
  • Fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply
  • Demonstrated in-depth skills and knowledge in
    • Petroleum engineering operations and production methods for oil and natural gas recovery
    • Reservoir surveillance/modeling, wellbore performance modeling or practical reservoir pressure application such as field surveillance and optimization
    • Production/Well optimization and Artificial Lift system and technology via practical experiences in troubleshooting/diagnostic/optimizing well performance
  • Familiar with
    • Reservoir surveillance, production or hydraulic modeling tools/applications, particularly Integrated Production Modelling (IPM) suite of applications
    • Pressure analysis tools/applications, e.g. Kappa Suite of Applications
  • Competent in writing and updating Excel Macros/Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) to reduce manual work/intervention
  • Demonstrated passion in engineering and shows strong technical attributes, e.g. attention to detail, initiative, highly organized and practical use of engineering principles
  • A highly motivated team player with effective verbal and written communication, analytical and interpersonal skills; able to influence multi-functional technical staff to execute recommendations
  • Job may require working staggered work hours and some international travel
