Marathon Oil-s Eagle Ford Subsurface Process Support team is currently seeking a Reservoir Engineer, based out of Houston, Texas. The Process Support team is complementary to the Execution, Surveillance, and Technical Studies teams making up the broader Eagle Ford Subsurface team. The team is responsible for coordinating Subsurface and Planning inputs and results, production variance analysis, Subsurface economics, managing OBO assets, competitor intelligence, reserves management, and managing Subsurface tools and databases.
Manage engineering-driven business processes for production forecasting (decline curves, type curves, and well attributes)
Coordinate Subsurface team schedule to complete necessary updates for delivery to Planning
Provide guidance to Subsurface team on requirements
Compile and deliver quality product to Planning on time
Solicit feedback from team, management, Planning, and broader company to facilitate continuous improvement
Analyze trends and actual performance relative to forecasts
Investigate and propose methodology changes as appropriate
Serve as representative for OBO operations
Coordinate with Land and Subsurface on all OBO AFEs
Maintain OBO capital forecast
Oversee a technician-driven process to ensure receipt of all OBO information
Generate OBO production forecast
Provide support as needed to asset for OBO AFE evaluation
Assist with internal/external slide preparation for investor relations, earnings release, etc.
Education: Bachelor-s degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field
Experience: 2+ years of engineering experience in oil & gas, preference to Subsurface or Planning
Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Suite, Aries, 3esi Enersight, Spotfire
Other Skills: Must possess excellent communication, teamwork, planning, and organizational skills
