Responsibilities
Contribute to geomodel construction and supervise reservoir performance to ensure continual updating of the dynamic model throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Act as a focal point to ensure alignment between G&G;, geomechanics, drilling, completions, and reservoir inputs/assumptions.
Integrate subsurface analysis into full field development planning - collaborate with the geoscience team to build a portfolio of future wells and create alternative development plans with different risk, production, and capex profiles.
Identify and implement reservoir surveillance plans to de-risk drilling locations or assess reservoir performance.
Integrate geological, geophysical and engineering data to generate expected well forecasts using subsurface analytical modelling and RTA. Incorporate uncertainties and statistical analysis into forecasts.
Decline analysis, volumetric analysis and type well generation.
Ensure asset reserve and resource evaluations are current and technically supported.
Provide subsurface mentorship to the team as required.

Education, Experience, Technical Qualifications

Education and Experience
A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering
P. Eng designation
5 to 10 years’ experience in an upstream Oil and Gas Engineering discipline
Strong reservoir engineering skills to apply in economic evaluations, planning and forecasting
Excellent project management skills with commitment to data integrity
Understanding of regulatory requirements, royalties, and reserves reporting requirements in Alberta

Technical Qualifications and Software
Solid foundation in discounted cash flow analysis and economic metrics (DPI, NPV, ROR etc.)
Familiar with reservoir engineering concepts including well test analysis (RTA and PTA), PVT, DFITs, simulation principles, geomechanics, etc.
Experience with statistical analysis and monte carlo simulation
Reservoir simulation experience considered an asset
Experience with IHS Harmony, FAST Piper, Wellspring, Spotfire, Accumap, Value Navigator, WellView, PVR, Geographix, Petrel, Eclipse, MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word
