An opportunity is available to join a leading oil and gas operating company in the role of Reservoir Engineer based in the Company’s office in Wellington, New Zealand.
The Reservoir Engineer supports production operations and development opportunity maturation towards securing the maximum value of the company's assets by building, quality checking, maintaining and running state-of-the-art reservoir simulation models. The Reservoir Engineer analyses reservoir engineering data for reservoir management, development and exploration as an essential function.
Create, deliver and maintain dynamic reservoir models for performance monitoring, development opportunity assessment and management decisions.
Conduct routine surveillance of operated and non-operated wells and fields o ensure optimal performance.
Contribute to project economics delivery in existing production areas and for diverse New Venture and Exploration opportunities.
Generate documentation for all work conducted
Present reservoir engineering work for technical assurance a internal peer reviews and at Technical Committee Meetings (TCMs) with Joint Venture (JV) partners.
Identify and mature opportunities, assess reserves and provide input into annual reserves reporting.
Manage development and appraisal projects and/or provide input into development plans.
Tertiary qualification in Petroleum, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of 8 - 10 years' experience as a reservoir engineer with an oil and gas operator in a multi-disciplinary team
Experience in field development, preferably in an offshore environment
Proficiency in industry standard reservoir simulation software
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to adapt in a dynamic and changing work environment
The role will be offered on a 2 year fixed term basis.
