Description

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build proved, probable and possible reserves and contingent resource cases for contract ring fence areas and then consolidate to regional level..
- Update reserve cases quarterly and maintain in corporate database for reserves reporting and portfolio modelling purposes
- Liaise with technical teams and Corporate Reserves Group to ensure all reserves work is compliant with SEC regulations and guidelines
- Liaise with Finance, Accounting, Tax and Operations groups to ensure that corporate cases are consistent with capex, opex and production budgets and depreciation balances
- Perform economic evaluations of incremental/new projects to support investment decisions - Develop net production forecasts for budget and planning purposes
- Work with Finance group to ensure Marketing receive accurate hydrocarbon entitlement data each month and that daily export volumes are reported correctly
- Generate and implement new ideas/ways to improve efficiency of reserves and planning processes
- Screen, identify and propose production optimization opportunities. - Provide economic and commercial support to business development teams
- Attend Technical Committee Meetings and develop relationships with key staff in the in-country operating groups and with Joint Venture partners
- Provide support to International Business Advisor to help QC quarterly reserve submissions from other international teams and provide assistance in portfolio modelling exercises
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Experience as a petroleum engineer with significant hands on economics experience, preferably with an E&P Operator Company and North Africa experience
- Experience in evaluating acquisitions and divestitures preferred
- High level of proficiency in PEEP and PalintirCASH economic software required, and ability to build complex models in Excel
- Thorough knowledge of international petroleum contracts and fiscal regimes
- Broad understanding of company accounts and international tax issues
- Broad understanding of reserves reporting and SEC guidelines and presenting reserves to third party auditors
- Ability to monitor, identify and recommend opportunities to maximize production. High level of proficiency in Spotfire and OFM required
- Working knowledge of G&G software; DecisionSpace (Openworks) experience preferred.
- Experience developing unconventional fields with shale and horizontal drilling experience preferred
ESSENTIAL:
1. As a minimum, reasonable proficiency in French language (ideally also written),
2. Previous experience of travelling to French speaking North Africa
3. Entitled to work in the UK - that is no work permit application required (Otherwise cannot consider)
