Icebergs. 90% of their mass floats beneath the water surface and its hard to see what might be lying below. But thats no problem for you. You are focused on what may be hidden, and you use more than your eyes to tell you.About this role As a Reservoir Engineer its your role to find and characterize what lies hidden from easy view. You will perform and guide detailed simulation studies, using industry-standard tools such as Intersect and Eclipse modelling software. You can build, run and evaluate dynamic models to evaluate various technical issues, to clarify the picture. Your expertise will be needed on range of projects and in diverse environments but the mission stays the same: to inform and guide reservoir management practices, profitably and safely. You will use a range of studies to evaluate various depletion schemes and to investigate technical issues. Youll evaluate production potential by simulating fluid flow phase behavior and reservoir physical properties such as relative permeability and Special Core Analysis Laboratory (SCAL). You will be guiding and supporting plans that meet safe reservoir engineering requirements, identifying risks, and problem solving issues as they arise. You will be involved in Peer Reviews to ensure all technical standards are maintained, and document all results with clarity, in writing and graphical forms. When you are visiting sites to conduct studies, you will be identifying issues and conducting your evaluations independently, using your judgement and decision-making skills to determine requirements on the spot. Once the data is in, youll analyze and interpret results in a timely manner, and then help deliver the information you find to help Reservoir Leadership Teams make safer, optimal, long-term production decisions for each reservoir. Your knowledge of reservoir management practices, processes, and expectations will inform and guide your presentations and recommendations.About you Must haves:At least a Bachelor Degree in Petroleum Geology or similarAt least 5+ years of experience in Reservoir Engineering, preferably in Petroleum ExplorationUseful to have:Some skills in Intersect and Eclipse modelling software, possibly MBAL and Reveal GAP MSc or PhD in Petroleum Geology or similar is highly desirableAnd youll need a sense of adventure too just as icebergs travel, you will go where the reservoirs are, and may live away from home for extended periods.
