Denbury Resources is currently recruiting for a Reservoir Engineer to join the corporate office operations in Plano, Texas.
The Reservoir Engineer will perform all reservoir engineering activities on assigned fields, including: identifying opportunities to pursue additional recovery, building the reserves economic cases, technically defending reserves when needed, monitoring reservoir performance throughout the year against plan, and setting injection and offtake targets for the wells in the field.
Additionally, the reservoir engineer will support other technical team members to: design and perform a surveillance program to identify field performance issues, optimize use of compression and other processing resources to maximize field cashflow, make well decisions based on economic analyses, and identify faulting and other forms of compartmentalization that affect reservoir behavior.
Work in a multi-discipline field asset team to manage tertiary CO2 floods.
Identify, design, and evaluate reservoir management projects to improve reservoir value.
Monitor reservoir performance against expectations for long-term recovery and flooding efficiency.
Prepare and defend reserves and long-term business plan forecasts for area of responsibility.
Optimize flood performance through pattern balancing, well-test analysis, injection profiles and production logging.
Gain experience in EOR processes, including water flooding, CO2 flooding and gas flooding and use the experience to create or modify the strategic development plan, identify opportunities to pursue additional recovery and build reserves.
Assist geologist to prepare reservoir descriptions through well log, core, well performance, and well test analyses.
Train and utilize engineering technicians.
Skills, Education & Experience Required
Minimum experience: 1+ years
Minimum B.S. in Engineering with a preference for Petroleum Engineering.
Strong business acumen and an understanding of project economics
Project management skills and can prioritize work and schedule accordingly
Demonstrated ability to recognize and solve problems working with others.
Must be able to speak, read, and write in English fluently.
Good communication skills – articulates well and conveys clear objectives
Work will primarily be conducted in an office environment; travel may be required to district and field offices and/or oil and gas production facilities, with the occasional need to wear personal protective equipment. Position requires the ability to frequently communicate information and to manage the possible stress of an office environment. Work may include being stationary for long periods of time, with occasional movement about the office. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds is required. Position requires constant operation and viewing of a computer screen and other office machinery.
Travel to Field roughly once per quarter.
