Denbury is currently recruiting for a Senior Reservoir Engineer to join the corporate office operations in Plano, Texas.
As a senior member of the Development Design team the successful Reservoir Engineering candidate will be responsible for field development planning and special projects in the medium to large capital range. The candidate will work with other disciplines to build field development, expansion and redevelopment strategies, provide guidance on reservoir performance and deliver high quality, detailed technical analyses. Typical deliverables include, but are not limited to: recovery estimation, pattern layout and development, generating and defending reserves estimates and economic analysis.
The successful candidate must be able to communicate well with team members from many different organizations in both receiving projects and providing technical feedback. The engineer should be able to work independently and efficiently and take on a variety of different tasks and projects simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines.
Contribute to a multi-discipline team supporting the development of primary production, waterfloods and tertiary CO2 floods
Identify, design, and evaluate development projects to improve reservoir value
Prepare and defend reserves and long-term business plan forecasts for area of responsibility
Use experience in EOR processes, including water flooding, CO2 flooding and gas flooding to create or modify the strategic development plan, identify opportunities to pursue additional recovery and build reserves
Assist geologists to prepare reservoir descriptions through well log, core, well performance, and well test analyses
Assist asset team reservoir and production engineers to operate new development projects to meet the design criteria
Train and utilize engineering technicians
Skills, Education & Experience Required:
Minimum experience: 10+ years
Minimum B.S. in Engineering with a preference for Petroleum Engineering
Eight years of progressively responsible experience in EOR processes, including water flooding, CO2 flooding and gas flooding
Experienced user of economics and surveillance software; DSS and Aries strongly preferred
Strong business acumen and an understanding of project economics
Awareness and appreciation for simulation workflows and ability to add value
Project management skills and can prioritize work and schedule accordingly
Demonstrated ability to recognize and solve problems working with others
Must be able to speak, read, and write in English fluently
Experience working as part of a multidiscipline team
Strong interpersonal and communication skills – articulates well and conveys clear objectives
Travel to Field roughly once per quarter
Sitting for long periods of time
Frequent alpha/numeric keyboarding
Oral communication over the phone and in person
Ability to view computer monitor
