Apply engineering principles to conduct the analysis, modeling, design, costing, and implementation of facilities associated with projects and acquisitions related to gas storage. Support field work at subsurface and surface facilities and associated projects for salt caverns, aquifer storage, and depleted gas storage reservoirs. Provide functional expertise in designing, building, and utilizing analytical models and tools for commercial optimization of facilities and project development. Commercially solve complex engineering problems and deliver accurate cost estimates and feasibility analysis. Conduct reservoir and individual well analysis of storage assets to predict, monitor, and manage reservoir performance. Design, contract and oversee high pressure gas well logging and wellbore intervention work. Perform reservoir studies to track reservoir performance as compared to predicted performance in order to develop optimal schedules and forecasts of individual reservoir deliverability. Assist with development of commercial possibilities associated with current assets and potential projects. Participate in the design, validate assumptions, interface with external subsurface engineering contractors and commercial parties, and perform due diligence studies for acquisitions and development of storage opportunities. Analyze cavern and/or reservoir data in order to guide commercial and field operations to obtain the greatest economic benefit while maintaining operational integrity. Interface with other AGL departments on major project initiatives and communicate with external counterparties on the details of project specifics such as capacity and deliverability. Conduct initial engineering analysis, modeling, design, and costing of subsurface facilities for proposed projects and acquisitions and work with locations and key stakeholders to efficiently run storage facilities during critical operating periods. Utilize internal and external resources to achieve desired results for multiple projects and storage fields simultaneously. Identify project risks and develop means to mitigate risks. Coordinate efforts of multiple groups to achieve optimal project results.
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Civil, Electrical, Petroleum, or Geological Engineering or related field. 1 year experience in successful project development; 1 year experience using good organizational management skills; 1 year experience adhering to tasks and delivering an unbiased view of projects; 1 year experience working with project finances; 1 year experience using business environment communications skills (oral and written); 1 year experience handling multiple projects simultaneously and meeting aggressive deadlines. Travel (15% domestic). Will accept paid or unpaid experience.
