PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify and communicate information required from customers and follows up to ensure success in receipt of all data in a timely manner.
Set up customer portal on each job
Monitor real time operations on nights and weekend while on call
Work with field personnel to identify and trouble shoot data acquisition and measurement issues.
Analyze diagnostic test data (RTA and DFITs) and complete reports
Clearly present reports to customers
Perform Area of Investigation analysis of offset wells using commercial databases
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
General knowledge of daily operations activity and equipment associated with flowback and well testing
General knowledge of methods for completing unconventional wells
Working knowledge RTA Theory
Working knowledge of fracture mechanics and stimulation design.
Working knowledge of Rate Transient Analysis and Diagnostic Fracture Injection Test analysis
Advanced PC skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint
Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, the capability of independent thought and action, and the ability to work with minimal supervision using sound judgment. Must have excellent people skills
Excellent organizational skills; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines in a competent and professional manner
Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team setting
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
Experience with the acquisition of oil and gas data from commercial industry databases (e.g. Drilling Info) and from state regulatory bodies such as the Texas Railroad Commission
Knowledge of a variety of reservoir basins in the U.S.
Basic understanding of oil and gas related geology and petrophysics
Basic knowledge PLC programming and facility automation
Experience with using machine learning software (JMP, Matlab, etc.)
Experience in programming (VBA, Python, R)
Field experience in either completions (hydraulic fracturing multi stage horizontal wells) and/or Flowback and well testing
Experience working for a services provider
EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent from an accredited University, Masters or Ph.D preferred.
5+ years of relevant industry experience working as a Petroleum Engineer with a major emphasis on Reservoir Engineering and minor emphasis on completions and facilities engineering
