Position Overview:
This position will be based out of Houston and will report to the Reservoir Engineering Manager. The reservoir engineer will be engaged in tasks related to the development of Encino’s Oil & Gas assets. This position will be responsible for tasks supporting:

Economic and reservoir evaluation of existing and proposed investment opportunities
The yearly budgeting and development plan process
Technical studies and recommendations to drive the optimization of well performance
Well surveillance and optimization of PDP wells
Reserves preparation workflows


Participate in various phases of economic evaluations including sensitivity analysis for well performance reviews, single-well projects, multi-well projects, and other basin related proposals
Support the Land team in evaluating acreage trades, providing inputs for the unitization process, and daily ad hoc support
Prepare AFE materials for operated and non-operated wells as well as other large capex expenditures
Work with technical functions to optimize completion designs and improve performance
Enhance base production by working with the production engineers/field operations staff to analyze existing production, identify trends and recommended actions
Compile and analyze operating budget, capital budget, production forecasts
Engage in the yearly planning process working to optimize the asset development plan ( 5 year plan) including the drill schedule, planned completion tests, forecasting volumes, and running economics.
Support the senior engineers in the generation of quarterly reserves updates
Work with midstream/marketing groups to understand pricing, differentials, GP&T; costs, system pressures, system constraints, and volume requirements to adjust development plans appropriately
Analyze capital and expense budgets as well as LOE statements
Stay abreast of engineering technology advances and recommend utilization of appropriate technology on company assets.


Experienced in well performance analysis methods including DCA, RTA, and probabilistic methods
Proficiency in Aries, Excel, and Spotfire
Strong understanding of oil and gas economics and accounting methods
Familiarity with drilling, completions, geology, land considerations, and productions operations
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a small multi-disciplinary team setting
Demonstrated experience of leadership, initiative, and project management
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering; petroleum, chemical, or mechanical preferred
Minimum of 2 years of reservoir engineering experience working for an upstream operator
Previous direct Shale experience preferred
