Part-timeReservoir Engineer will provide part-time PVT expertise to major ConocoPhillips assets globally. The work will include performing and advising on detailed reservoir fluid studies, including, black oil characterization, EOS characterization, reservoir fluid sampling, PVT lab experiments, IOR/EOR development mechanisms, pilots and programs.

This is a part-time role (60%) and will be based in either Bartlesville, OK or Houston, TX.

Key responsibilities may include:
Advise global teams on PVT sampling requirements and best practices
QC sample and lab data
Provide shale gas injection pilot fluid characterization
Provide black oil and EOS characterization of critical fluids
Assist in technology development programs relating to shale gas injection
Provide PVT training to the global BU's
Provide mentoring and support to less experienced engineers performing PVT studies
Assisting in the design of procedures for fluid sampling for exploration and development


Legally authorized to work in the United States
Masters degree in mechanical, chemical, petroleum or related engineering field
10+ years of experience in fluid characterization
10+ years of direct lab experience
Expert level of proficiency in sampling, QC & characterization of reservoir fluids
Advanced level of understanding of compositional simulations
Expert level of proficiency in PVT experimentation and compositional modeling of gas injection processes
Willingness and ability to travel up to 25-35% of the time
More than 30 years of experience in fluid characterization
15+ years of direct lab experience including supervision of lab technicians
PhD degree in petroleum, chemical or related engineering
Strong understanding of surveillance and field management principles and EOR principles
Delivers results through realistic planning to accomplish goals
Generates effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethical.
