Encana has an exciting opportunity to join the Reservoir Characterization team in the Texas Operating area. The team is looking for a reservoir engineer to lead technical projects that will inform decisions and add value to development strategies for both the Permian and Eagle Ford assets. This position reports to the Texas reservoir engineering manager.
Lead a variety of technical projects which may include upside zone evaluations, type curve generation, data analytics, RTA analysis, reservoir simulation.
Conduct statistical analyses and develop analytical models.
Evaluate and understand key performance drivers, challenges and opportunities in conjunction with the development & completions teams.
Analyze competitor data to help increase team’s knowledge and assessment of optimal development strategies.
Evaluate new technologies (internal and external) and make recommendations for testing.
Ensure rigorous technical evaluations are completed with appropriate workflows and applications.
Participate in technical reviews and competitive technical intelligence activities.
Collaborate with the Chief’s organization to ensure knowledge is being shared across the organization.
BS or MS in engineering, petroleum engineering a plus.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a reservoir engineer.
Experience in data analytics.
Solid understanding of geologic principals.
Experience in reservoir modeling, rate transient and PVT analysis a plus.
Experience in completion design and hydraulic frac modeling a plus.
Strong track record of results, taking initiative and showing leadership.
Ability to meet deadlines and advance multiple projects concurrently with minimal direction.
Excellent communication, organization and teamwork skills.
Solid understanding of economics.
Proficiency with Spotfire, Harmony, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Aries.
Coding experience with R, SQL and/or Shiny preferred.
Currently eligible or able to obtain clearance to work in the United States.
