The CRC Sacramento Basin Gas Operations Team is seeking to fill a Reservoir Engineering position to support production operations, appraisals and potential development projects across multiple conventional and unconventional fields. The role requires an entrepreneurial mindset and includes liaising and collaboration with joint venture partners. The position will be in Bakersfield, CA.

Responsibilities
Drive innovation to extract value from core gas assets and assist in defining upside exploration opportunities
Work with multi-disciplinary teams to support optimal asset development and operations, leveraging fundamental reservoir and production engineering skills in development planning, opportunity generation, production surveillance and optimization
Detailed evaluation & appraisal of CRC assets and identification of potential business development opportunities
Help manage joint venture activities and coordination with partners
Responsible for developing workovers and new drill locations in assigned field areas
Responsible for surveillance of wells & fields to ensure optimal production rates
Monitor and analyze expenses and production for planning and reserves report review
Deliver presentations and effectively communicate with management

Qualifications

Required qualifications:
BS Engineering degree required, preferably in Petroleum, Chemical or Mechanical
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in applying fundamental reservoir and production engineering principles to field-wide development
Reserves estimation & production forecasting using decline curve analysis and analog type curves
Strong communication skills and aptitude for working in a team environment
Proficiency in the following software applications: DSS, Spotfire & ValNav (or other petroleum economics software)
Preferred qualifications:
Experience with non-associated dry gas operations
Operations engineering experience, designing and implementing well workover/intervention programs
Familiarity with nodal analysis and the effects of pressure changes to recoverable volumes
Multi-disciplinary approach and collaboration with geoscience counterparts to understand drainage patterns and depletion across reservoir targets
Understanding of pressure and rate transient analysis
Petrophysical understanding of pay signatures associated with open hole wireline logs
Familiarity with free-flowing wells and well surveillance practices that extend production life and minimize production downtime
Proficiency in surveillance and tracking software such as XSPOC, OpenWells or industry equivalents
Experience with regulatory reporting and permitting associated with Underground Injection Control (UIC) Program and Well Stimulation Treatment requirements
