Posted Position Title: Reservoir Engineer Career Level: Experienced Function: Services Function Segment: Field Services Location: United States U.S. State, China or Canada Provinces: California, Texas City: Houston, Bakersfield Postal Code: 77041-2001 Relocation Assistance: No Role Summary/Purpose: In this role of Reservoir Engineer you will be responsible for estimation of hydrocarbons in place within an oil or gas reservoir, and for forecasting the probable future production performance of a gas or oil reservoir. Essential Responsibilities:
  • Work with Engineering and Product Teams to develop process and procedures for Multi-Phase Services / Reservoir management
  • Work with NPI team to improve services capability for Multiphase meter and associated systems that contribute to Reservoir management
  • Work closely with Customers Operations and Production Engineering to implement Production Excellence processes. In particular take an active role in a) developing reservoir surveillance plans to improve understanding of assets, allow effective reservoir management, and support investment proposals, b) capture opportunities for production optimization, discuss implementation with the Customers Operations team, and influence the Operator for execution
  • Develop and maintain field profitability models, and running economic models of production optimization proposals
  • Perform detailed simulation studies to optimize well production/design or to investigate critical aspects related to fluid movements
  • Conduct analytical studies to understand the fluid flow characteristics in the reservoir
  • Analyze electric logs, formation pressures and reservoir fluids
  • Mentor junior engineers and engineering technicians, and providing guidance and training in fundamental and advanced applications of reservoir engineering
  • Provide oil production forecasting and reserve analyses using production decline curves
  • Generate computations to determine the economic life of oil & gas fields
  • Build reservoir models and carry out simulations to evaluate the possible development scenarios and associated reserve profiles
  • Interface with Field Engineers and customers to help troubleshoot issues as they pertain to the Multiphase Meter and Oil well systems
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities for cost reduction
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities to improve production through optimization and stimulation of wells
  • Coordinating reviews with field operations and engineering personnel to optimize individual well performance
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in a STEM field (science, technology, engineering, mathematics)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Oil Field Industry
  • Minimum 5 years of well testing, fluid sampling and the interpretation and application of the dataEligibility Requirements:
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 60% of the time Domestically and Internationally

  • Experience with metering products and/or experience in upstream oil industry
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a focus on change acceleration and process improvement
  • Demonstrated knowledge of reservoir engineering concepts and processes; including volumetric determination; rock and fluid properties; performance monitoring/improvement; reserves estimation and asset/field development planning
  • Oil and Gas Reserve Estimations, Decline Curve Analysis, Petrophysical Log Analysis, Material Balance Studies
  • Understanding of reservoir dynamics including the use of reservoir models
  • Proactive, can-do attitude with a bias for action and positive mental mindset
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a project management role
  • Ability to manage effectively in a dynamic and fast–paced environment
