Marathon Oil Corporation is an international energy company engaged in oil and natural gas exploration and production. Marathon Oil has a significant leasehold position in the core of the Williston basin in North Dakota.- The Company holds acreage in Bakken Play, focusing on McKenzie and Dunn counties.--
 

Marathon Oil's Bakken Subsurface team is seeking a Reservoir Engineer. The successful candidate will work in the multidisciplinary team engaged in a variety of development activities and functions.
 

This position will report to a Subsurface Manager for the Bakken Asset Team and will be located in Houston.
 
 

Responsibilities:-

Perform reservoir simulation and reservoir modeling for multiwell sector areas of the Bakken assets using Petrel, Eclipse and Intersect simulators.
Perform well spacing studies using reservoir simulation and complex fracture modeling.
Perform stochastic reservoir simulation to frame type curves, evaluate uncertainty on reservoir parameters and provide frameworks for EURs.-
Perform production and completions optimization studies using reservoir simulation and advanced PTA/RTA.
Coordinate PVT sampling and analyze PVT reports with PVTsim to support simulation models
Coordinate and analyze discrete fracture injection tests (DFITs).
Coordinate and supervise core lab experiments to support reservoir characterization studies.
Work with the team to integrate engineering-analysis with available geological and geophysical data to characterize the reservoir and optimize future development.
Recommend data gathering and testing programs to improve understanding of well and reservoir performance.
Perform basic economic analysis to evaluate feasibility of future projects.

Qualifications:

Degree: Bachelors required
Major Discipline: Petroleum Engineering preferred, related Engineering required
Years of Experience Required: Minimum 5 years of experience in Reservoir Engineering; unconventional experience is preferred
Travel Required: Up to 10%
Technical Skills:
 

Highly proficient in reservoir simulation using Eclipse for Black Oil and Compositional models
Good expertise with Petrel to build simple simulation models, QA/QC advanced geocellular models, and prepare data for simulation using Petrel.
Experience with unconventional reservoirs and good understanding of hydraulic fracturing is highly desired.
Expertise with complex fracture modeling using Kinetix (Mangrove) is a plus.
Reservoir simulation experience with Intersect is a plus.
Experience with production and pressure transient analysis tools (Topaze, Saphir, Amethyste).
Risk analysis and stochastic simulation software and techniques (MEPO, Crystal Ball).
Economic analysis software (Aries or equivalent).
Data acquisition tools and databases (Spotfire, IHS Enerdeq).
