SCA is working with a large international client looking to hire an experienced Reservoir Engineer with a strong background in the development of gas fields within the lower 48. This role would be based in the Galleria, Houston, and would be focused on working within the multi discipline team working a non operated Joint Venture. Duties and responsibilities for this role are outlined below:


  • Responsible for reservoir engineering related activities of the Non Operated Joint Venture (NOJV)
  • Review and interface with operating company’s plans for unconventional gas field development
  • Review and analyze NOJV operational reports and studies
  • Maintain up to date economic analysis of development project(s) through studies, production and reserve forecasting, budget (CAPEX/OPEX) forecasting
  • Provide economic analysis to support field development plans, investment proposals and the annual budget cycle
  • Monitor industry activity in areas of interest
  • Provide technical guidance / mentorship to other team members
  • Jointly develop type curves and reserves with geology, operations, land and commercial
  • Attend conferences and scouting events in order to assess future acquisition or partnering opportunities
  • Evaluate A&D opportunities from data room materials and/or limited data sets in a short time period

Education/Experience Required

BS in Petroleum Engineering

  • A minimum of 10+ years of reservoir engineering experience with an E&P company
  • Significant experience with conventional and unconventional resource plays within the US
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency in MS Office, ArcGIS, economic software (Aries, PEEP, or PHDWin), Risk Analysis software (Crystal Ball or @Risk), Spotfire, Fekete and Kappa Suite
  • Proficient in log analysis, core analysis, in-field development, well placement and completion recommendations
  • Must be able to work with diverse employees and partners
  • Strong analytical, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a small team with minimal supervision and with peers across the organization
  • Experience in field development planning, economic evaluation and horizontal well modeling
