Castleton Commodities International, LLC, a leading Merchant Commodity Trading and Investment Firm located in downtown Houston, is hiring a Reservoir Engineer – Field Development and Acquisitions to support the Upstream business.  CCI currently operates 1,200 wells in East Texas, the Paradox Basin and the Black Warrior Basin. CCI will become the fifth largest producer in East Texas after closing a deal in November to acquire an additional 1,300 operated wells. This position will work with the Reserves, Reservoir Engineering and A&D team and have primary responsibility for field development engineering support and A&D evaluation.  This is an excellent opportunity to join an experienced and best in class team and be involved in a rapidly growing, entrepreneurial upstream business that offers employees significant opportunities for career advancement.


  • Responsible for engineering support in multi-discipline team to evaluate, recommend and develop reserves booking packages and execute on undeveloped projects including behind pipe recompletions and new drill vertical and horizontal wells
  • Conduct acquisition related technical due diligence
  • Develop  acquisition economic models
  • Assist with the identification of potential acquisition candidates
  • Collaborate with other team members.
  • Support Operations on drilling and recompletion activity
  • Support reserves bookings for quarterly, mid-year and year-end reserves


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in petroleum engineering, 10+ years is preferred
  • Significant experience working in onshore USA field development and  E&P acquisitions and divestitures
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong understanding of economic models and principles of reservoir engineering
  • Understand of key economic drivers in acquisitions
  • Strategic thinking and economic analysis skills
  • Proficiency with all Reservoir Engineering and Economic software tools with major emphasis on Aries
