The Organization

Our client is a growth-oriented international energy company engaged in exploration, development and
production of oil in the Middle East and North Africa. They have a large land base for future exploration
and development. Current production for this Canadian Public Company is averaging over 10,000 boe/d.
The budget for 2016 is $41mm weighted slightly to exploration and the balance development.

Team Dynamics
As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the Reservoir Engineer will report to the Manager, and will work
directly with operations, exploitation, G&G and management ensuring the optimization of the company’s
asset base.

Activities and Responsibilities
The successful Engineering candidate will work as part of an integrated asset team, responsible for
optimizing pools, determine new drilling locations, identify optimization work to be conducted, monitoring
waterflood performance, evaluating tertiary recovery options, budget and reserves. Communication skills
and knowledge of how value is added to the assets is a must. The candidate must be able to demonstrate
leadership and initiative within the organization, be able to direct and use effectively staff and/or
consultants, both in the Calgary and local offices. You can multi-task several projects, presentations to
foreign governments or government partners may be required periodically, requiring international travel.
Your primary responsibility is running and managing the compositional models for their water/miscible
flood. This will include data reviews (engineering, G&G) and make recommendations.
 Work within a team of other engineers, geologists and geophysicists, communication is critical
 Optimize depletion and development strategies for new and existing properties
 Assist in refining geological and geophysical pool characterization
 Complete engineering studies which include reservoir engineering and reservoir simulations
 Deliver production forecasts, reserves, project development economics including risk management
 Prepare and present technical and business presentations to management and third parties
 Familiar with economic and reservoir evaluation software

Experience
You have a University Degree and APEGA qualified with 5-8 years of experience. You are a team player,
someone who is responsive, communicative and willing to work with all parties within and external to the
organization. The successful candidate will also have the following experience:
 Progressive experience as an Asset Engineer with an attention to detail
 Conducted reservoir studies and associated economic studies
 Generated development and optimization plans
 Implemented and managed waterfloods, CO2, EOR, ASP
 Managed budgets and reserves
 Worked with heavy and medium oil operations in stratigraphic and structural play types
 “Classic” reservoir training in material balance, log analysis, reserves and simulation is an asset
