The Role

This exciting senior role provides leadership to the Reservoir, Appraisal and Development (RAD) team; accountable to develop and deliver both the long term and short-term integrated development and optimisation strategies for reservoir, wells and gathering network for all fields across the CTO asset (Condabri, Talinga, & Orana). The development packages and projects are managed through to concept lock. This includes near field appraisal and reservoir management.
Manage 21 staff of a variety of disciplines (facility engineers, economist, hydrogeologists, geomodeller, geologists, reservoir engineers, graduates), both on performance and development
Selection of optimal well types, spacing, surface facilities and export options (CAPEX and OPEX), in line with company strategic direction. Ensure these plans are put forward to Integrated Planning, for the generation of a company-wide Upstream Development Plan (UDP)
Accountable for short term and long term forecasts, both for new and existing wells
Production optimisation through brownfield projects and hydraulic optimisation. Input toward workover/well performance prioritisation
Accountable for the Propose/Assess/Select phase of development (including infrastructure) and brownfield projects, up to and including Approved For FEED gate, and appropriate handover to Asset Services or Engineering Service Team for Develop/Execute
Accountable for unlocking resources in the CTO asset, through appropriate studies and trials. Ensure learnings from trials are timely and disseminated through the other assets, and where appropriate, through tripartite. Update development plans with trial outcomes
Accountable for shallow gas (seeps) management, both proactively as part of development plans, and reactively if situations arise. Collaborate with industry on knowledge and mitigation plan sharing. Input to media management
Responsible for reserves process and tenure management
Accountable for well completion reporting

Is This You?

You will be a commercially focussed senior leader, with proven success managing large technical teams in the delivery of reservoir development management, planning and gas production optimisation strategies. You understand the uncertainty around subsurface activities and have the experience and knowledge to mitigate through contingency measures.
Your leadership experience will enable you to effectively delegate and guide others, while embracing diversity and inclusion.
Your stakeholder engagement abilities give you the ability to collaborate across internal and external boundaries to lead change and new ways of working. You will have comfort and confidence to present and report upon development plans to senior management committees and stakeholders.
Recognised Bachelor of Engineering degree (petroleum engineering, geology or similar relevant discipline)
Significant subsurface experience, ideally in coal seam/ unconventional gas
Demonstrated project management experience
Proven track record of improving safety performance
