About the Role
The Reservoir and Catchment Officer works as integral member of the Headworks team. This roles performs a diverse range of tasks ranging in operation and maintenance of our reservoirs and associated structure as well as working to provide crucial land and catchment management.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
Operating and maintaining Dams – follow documented procedures, make gate release decisions, route floods, liaise with emergency agencies and assist in the development and implementation of maintenance works at the storages
Land and catchment management – complete activities relating to the management of the reservoir catchment including; vegetation management, pest plant and animal control, monitoring and reporting of potential water quality issues.
The successful candidate will have:
Water Industry Certificate II qualification or willingness to undertake
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate effectively with public and staff or other agencies
Experience in operations and maintenance, this may include; dams, water service infrastructure, land management and associated recreational facilities or similar
Aptitude for/or experience in land and catchment management activities –including; vegetation management, pest plant and animal control, monitoring and reporting of potential water quality issues.
The salary and conditions for this position will be as per the Coliban Water Enterprise Agreement 2017. The pay range is Band 2 $54,000 to $60,000 (Base) (Industry and Standby allowances may be applicable) and a salary will be offered to the successful candidate commensurate with their skills and experience.
