Newfield Exploration (NYSE: NFX) is an upstream oil & gas company headquartered in The Woodlands, Texas. We are seeking to hire a Reservoir Geotechnical Analyst for a full-time position in UINTA Asset group. The UINTA asset is a dynamic team of geological and engineering professionals managing development of the reservoir and analyzing subsurface performance optimization. The group interacts closely with management, analyzes highly technical information and plays a critical role in evaluating and implementing strategic decisions.

This position provides technical support to a multi-disciplinary team. Duties include managing, updating, maintaining and manipulating databases to provide products to be utilized by the engineering staff. Collaborating with the Operating Business Units and other internal teams is also required.

Detailed Description

Generate reports and queries by integrating numerous databases; prepares presentation graphics, and provides other displays as needed.

ARIES database management and support

OBO project evaluation and data management including tracking competitor activity and results

Coordinate and work with IT to ensure data sources and links are correct and updated regularly.

Optimize or improve upon team workflows and Spotfire projects thru the use of macros or code

Generate quality maps, slides, montages and reports in support of technical presentations.

Support and advise reservoir group in all aspects regarding ArcGIS

Minimum Requirements

Minimum of 5 years performing described tasks required.

BS in math, Computer Science or Geoscience preferred

Tools and Data Sources

Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite and ArcGIS required.

Highly proficient in Spotfire and ARIES

Knowledge of querying and integrating information from different type of databases highly desirable (Access, SQL, Oracle)

Some knowledge of programming languages such as VBA, SQL, R, or C++

Background in data analytics or statistical learning is a plus
