Our Energy and Resources team offers structural, mechanical and piping (SMP) fabrication services, as well as load out/vessel mobilisation support to a wide range of clients within the oil and gas sector.

We are currently seeking an experienced Project / Production Engineer to join our Energy and Resources division. Based at our Henderson facility, the successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the leadership of project engineering outcomes for large-scale onshore, offshore and subsea fabrication projects.

This role will be offered on an initial 4 months month fixed term basis.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Assisting the Senior Project Engineer and Project Manager in management of projects
Developing and implementing plans, procedures and work instructions to improve delivery effectiveness of resource projects
Providing guidance and input to project planning and pre-processing activities required to develop bills of materials and production work orders
Interpreting design drawings for production staff where required
Preparing method statements for fabrication works
Preparing work packs and organising project inspection requirements
Composing weekly and monthly progress reports
Liaising with client representatives regarding technical queries, project scheduling and coordination of deliveries
Attending regular progress meetings with internal and external project stakeholders

As the ideal applicant, you will have:

A degree level qualification within a structural or mechanical engineering discipline
Eligibility for admission to Engineers Australia as a Chartered Professional Engineer
Demonstrated project engineering experience working in a fabrication environment
Experience in fabrication of subsea structures/piping, and components of offshore platforms and onshore gas plants (highly desirable)
A sound knowledge of manufacturing processes
Competency in the use of Microsoft Office & AutoCad software packages
The ability to communicate confidently and professionally within a multi-disciplinary project environment
Well-developed time management skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet tight deadlines
