Role OverviewWorking with a regional team and alongside the Chief Stratigrapher, the successful candidate will undertake thin section micropalaeontological slide analysis, provide geological interpretations, research and training on behalf of oil and gas companies within the area of stratigraphy related to oil and gas exploration.The candidate must be able to contribute to projects using a range of techniques and processes relating to the areas of stratigraphy and micropalaeontology. Must have the ability to independently and accurately generate and interpret data and prepare professional reports related to their specific discipline either in the office or at wellsite locations.Principal AccountabilitiesTo independently undertake for clients, as required, thin section micropalaeontological analysis of samples, either in the office or at wellsite.Review of geological and biostratigraphic data and provide interpretations and correlations (predominantly within software such as Stratabugs and ODM / IC)Work independently, or as part of a team, on single-discipline or multi-disciplinary work/projectsIntegrate their data with others, as requiredIndependently and accurately generate and interpret data and prepare professional reports related to stratigraphy and micropalaeontologyDemonstrate understanding and knowledge of other technical disciplines and of wider CGG products and servicesContribute to client meetings; independently present both internally and externally at conferencesMay assist in delivering training programmesCoordination of projectsWillingness to travel at times required for business, including overseas and to wellsiteAttend training and development courses / workshops as deemed necessaryThere may also be a requirement to undertake on location work such as at wellsite.
