Working with a regional team, cross regionally (as and when required) alongside the Chief Micropalaeontologist, the successful candidate will undertake microfossil slide (picked residue) analysis, provide geological interpretations, research and training on within the area of stratigraphy related to oil and gas exploration on behalf of internal and external clients.
You will contribute to projects, undertaking micropalaeontological (picked residue) analysis of samples, either in the office or at wellsite using, using a range of techniques and processes relating to the areas of Stratigraphy and Micropalaeontology.
You will be expected to review geological and biostratigraphic data and provide interpretations and correlations (predominantly within software such as Stratabugs and ODM / IC), while independently generating and interpreting data and preparing professional reports related to Stratigraphy and Micropalaeontology.
The Project Geoscientist will also contribute to client meetings, present internally and externally at conferences and may be required to assist in the delivery of training programmes.

The ideal candidate must be educated to degree level (MSc or PhD) in Micropaleontology, with proven experience, preferably within Oil and Gas consultancy.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written with excellent presentation skills are required in this position.
Fantastic Microsoft office skills, IT literacy and English language skills are paramount to the role, with experience of writing technical reports being a high priority. Excellent Stratabug experience is essential as well as knowledge and use of ODM/IC, Arc or databasing being advantageous.
Other language skills would also be an advantage.
Additional Information
There may also be a requirement to undertake on location work such as at wellsite. This role will require international travel to some extent, and direct interaction with clients.
