Our client is a private, junior oil and gas exploration and production company with a main focus on gas-weighted assets in Alberta. Our client is well-funded, in growth mode and production exceeds 6500 BOE per day.
Our client is looking for a 7+ year, well-rounded engineer with both production and exploitation engineering skill sets to manage the existing assets. This is a key role within the organization and a great opportunity to get involved in all aspects of exploitation, production, completions and reserves. This is an excellent asset management position and an opportunity to get involved in the early stages of a junior company.
This position will report to Senior Executives.
Identify and develop exploitation opportunities and reservoir depletion strategies.
Recommend, implement and lead area strategy and development plans.
Deliver on areas of reserves and production rate additions.
Seek ways to improve revenue generation by optimizing base production. Maximize asset life through minimizing costs and deploying latest technologies.
Ensure company operations are planned and executed in a safe, regulatory-compliant, and cost-effective manner.
Evaluate well and field performance and improve assets through economically viable workovers, stimulations, facility improvements and accretive acquisitions.
Work closely with field staff to optimize existing production and to coordinate certain operations activities.
A problem-solver who brings solutions to the table, mitigates future risk by preventing recurring problems, and is comfortable with accountability.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and a P.Eng. designation with APEGA.
7+ years of experience within the upstream oil and gas industry, in both production and exploitation roles. Preference would be given to candidates with extensive gas experience who have a solid understanding of compression and well optimization.
Familiar with mineral lands and joint venture agreements and contracts.
Field experience is an asset and this individual will be expected to travel to the field from time to time.
Able to work in a fast-paced work environment, meet deadlines and is comfortable with accountability and decision making.
Prior experience working in a junior company a definite asset.
Ability to work independently and be a strong self-initiator.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and is flexible in adjusting priorities to business needs.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Enthusiastic individual with the drive and passion to grow with the organization.
