Description

Job Activities:

HSE:
Implement and reinforce the HSE policy of the affiliate on chemicals supply chain activities
Ensure safety and environmental protection regulations and instructions are respected throughout the chemicals chain
Liaise with Contractor and company HSE to ensure fire fighting and spill mitigation chemicals are available on site
Gather and keep up-to-date production data related to HSE (chemical usage / disposal, etc)
Maintain and keep up to date the technical documentation and MSDS database and ensure correct labelling of the tanks and IBC
Ensure DGS and audits cards issued with actions related to his discipline are treated with adequate priority
Assist Mass Balance in the definition and reporting of flaring gas.
Production and Process:
Provide operational and methodological assistance to site.
Participate in the production troubleshooting (trips, flaring, unit unavailability, abnormal operating conditions, etc.).
Participate in the production/injection shortfall analysis.
Follow-up closely water treatment system, to maintain high availability of water injection.
Conduct regular audits on site.
Take part in studies, risk analysis, HAZOPs and audits related to production/treatment, conducted internally or by MODEC.
Contribute to improving production expertise, developing reference documents and developing calculation methods and tools.
Issue operating procedures related to specific operations prepared by Onshore, revise Site procedures at required frequency.
Provide production and process expertise to other entities, inside or outside FOPS.
Provide assistance to OBO when required, share lessons learnt and experience acquired on operated assets.
Treatment / Chemicals Supply:
Define and ensure implementation of the chemical treatment strategy, in line with flow assurance philosophy
Coordinate the qualification and contractual procedure for any new chemical in liaison with HQ specialists
Management of chemicals contract in liaison with vendor to ensure timely delivery and appropriate stock level
Establish chemical dosage, ensure site implementation and associated monitoring (injection, sampling and analysis on residuals)
Coordinate activities related to Sulphate Removal Unit (SRU) and ensure high availability of the system
Liaise with Corrosion specialists for the definition and implementation of corrosion prevention and monitoring strategy.
Coordinate the laboratory activities (offshore and onshore), define and ensure the laboratories audits.
Through an appropriate chemical management plan, ensure a proper functioning of the plant.
Liaise with Flow assurance engineer to anticipate chemical requirements and associated Supply Chain strategy.
Liaise with Flow assurance engineer to update or improve LAPA Production Chemistry with associated lab analysis (local or abroad).
Sampling / Analysis:
Develop sampling and analysis strategy to assess injection effectiveness and comply with any company and/or external requirements
Ensure sampling required onshore (affiliate, HQ and/or authorities) are collected, shipped and delivered safely and on due time
Define Lab requirements and ensure sampling are analysed as per Company and industry rules and best practices
Budget:
Contribute to the preparation of operations budgets (IB and PDC’s) and annual work program
Prepare and anticipate the Request for Services for Headquarters support (studies, lab analyses, assistance, audits…)
Control implementation of recommendations and injection follow up. Propose initiatives to reduce/optimize consumption (OPEX)
Management System & Interfaces:
Participate to Integrated Operation Planning meetings, provide input to improve quality, ensure all activities are properly mapped
Contribute to the sustainability of the Field Operation Management System (FOMS) in the affiliate
Contribute to the elaboration of the annual field operation objectives in terms of HSE, production and budget
Develop and submit for N+1 Validation the chemicals management strategy
Liaise with Company and contractor HSE on fire fighting and spill mitigation chemicals
Liaise with site and company LOG to ensure timely supply and adequate consumption of the chemicals
Participate and contributes to the elaboration of Operated assets LTP, annual budget, PDC’s, mid-term integrated planning
Maintain frequent exchanges with Headquarters entities, mainly: DSO/DW/PFA, DSO/IP/EXP/PPF, SCR/RD
Human Resources:
Contribute to the improvement of skills and know-how for site personnel (Production and lab teams) on chemicals usage
Provide (prepare and deliver) training and coaching on chemicals for site personnel (Induction / awareness) as and when required
Develop plan for improvement of skills and know-how of Production Engineer (onshore) and Site engineers.

Resident position – Based in Rio de Janeiro. Frequent offshore trips required

Accountabilities:

As part of team work:
H3SE: Provide training on safe usage of chemicals for the respect of the HSE policies & procedures. Keep up to date the technical documentation. Incorporate the respect of HSE policies & procedures on operating instructions and engineering studies
Production: Ensure all required chemicals are available as to avoid any impact on production. Provide site with adequate support (Process & Well Performance) in order to respect the production targets & objectives
Work Program: Contribute to the work program development & implementation to optimize impact on safety, production & costs
Interface: Coordinate with internal and external entities within the affiliate to ensure the continuity of field operations activities
Cost: Lead the chemicals optimisation initiatives to reduce OPEX
Human resources: improve personnel awareness on chemicals by mean of training and coaching

Candidate profile
Job Qualifications / Experience Required:

Education: Msc / Bsc Engineering (chemistry) diploma or equivalent
Professional experience: Minimum 6 years in the oil & gas industry with positions in process and treatment disciplines
Mass Balance: Knowledge of company, JV and country rules on mass balance and reporting
Technical skills: Safety of persons, environment and facilities (corrosion / integrity), Contract management, Safety Engineering, Oil & Gas production & process, Chemical treatment, lab analysis, Reporting, Logistics.
Behaviour Skills: Troubleshooting, reliability, transparency, availability for offshore, rigour, autonomy, team spirit and deep sense of analysis
Language skills: English (Bright 3 minimum) and Portuguese fluent
