The Mid-Continent Business Unit’s Delaware Basin Basin is soliciting a candidate for a Production Technologist position to support 2 FOTs (Carlsbad and Fort Stockton) with production optimization, reservoir management, well repair, workovers and horizontal well drilling. The successful candidate will work closely with teams of earth scientists, engineers, land representatives and Drilling & Completions specialists involved in identifying, developing and executing a wide variety of projects in the Delaware Basin.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Use Systems of Record and other computer applications to support routine well work, workovers, plug and abandonments, artificial lift and horizontal well packages.
Assist in development, execution and tracking well work activities including acid stimulation workovers, fracture stimulation workovers, well repair and recompletions, wellbore diagrams, P&A requests and AFEs.
Write queries to pull data from Chevron databases and prepare reports/visuals to assist technical team to efficiently manage growing well count.
Support development of new tools, dashboards, and improvements to existing in-house tools.
Prepare procedures, generate cost estimates and develop funding requests for workover and abandonment proposals.
Assist in the creation of technical presentations.
2 - 4 years of relevant Production Technologist, Engineering Technician and/or Field Operations experience.
Familiar with oil production processes, accounting, and regulatory.
Knowledge of Spotfire and experience with templates, and dashboards and other visualization tools.
Knowledge of artificial lift, remedial wellwork, well stimulation, and well completions.
Experience manipulating data, interpreting data, and proposing action.
Experience building wellwork
Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access) Harmony, SAP, LOWIS, EC, and Spotfire.
MS Access skills and ability to use Access to query data.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Capable of handling a diverse workload and multiple tasks, working in a team environment, allocating their time to provide support to more than one team, but also working independently with minimal daily supervision.
Able to demonstrate creativity and initiative in their use of tools and data access applications to address project tasks.
Fosters cooperation and collaboration among work group, peers and business partners. Removes barriers to cooperation and teamwork across BU and functional groups. Develops common understanding of issues and performance goals.
PEEP knowledge considered plus.
