Our client, a well-known operator company, is currently seeking (2) Production Technologist for a contract role in Grande Prairie Alberta . The qualified candidate MUST be local or have accommodations in the area as no LOA will be given. Job Summary You will be responsible for the optimization and downhole maintenance of the areas oil and gas wells, while maintaining an environmentally safe and cost effective work environment. Specifically, you will interact with the technical and operations staff along with well servicing coordinator to execute programs compliant to all regulatory and company standards. You will demonstrate company core values while endorsing the companys safety management system with employees and contractors alike. Production Management Work with Production Engineers and Area Foreman to meet area production targets. Review well and artificial lift performance on a regular basis;Monitor volumes for both oil and gas properties, working closely with operations and engineering group to maintain uptime performance. Understands down time drivers and pursue improvements with field staff;Active participant in all district well reviews. Track and prioritize actions and ensure timely completion.Work on well optimizations with the area teamsSet up and manage a district wide pumping well fluid level programOptimize oil well pumping performance utilizing fluid level and dyno dataReview oil and gas well production history and respond to anomalous declineRecommend and implement production optimization programs such, including but not limited to: Rod pumpsGas liftPlunger lift Optimize existing rod pumps, plunger lift, design and coordinate new installationsUtilize Virtuwell and Rodstar software to model wellbore and pipeline systems to design and optimize artificial lift systemsMonitor and evaluate booster compression for economic incremental gain Capex/Opex Management Develop and maintain the Non Volume Add WO budgets to forecast and explain variances for capital expenditures.Work with Superintendents and Foreman to prepare and manage DH opex budgets;Prepare and review WO AFEs to ensure economic evaluations have been completed and economic hurdles are clearedMonitor and Evaluate workover costs and trending across the district to provide meaningful metrics that will highlight opportunities for improvement. Assist with co-ordination of bids to optimize operating costsEnsure reasonable payouts and generate Authorizations for Expenditure (AFEs) as necessary and manage the capital budget for funds spent on the above items Performance Management and Leadership Provide mentorship and coaching to the EITsCoordinate district pump and plunger schools for operations in addition to any area specific training that may be required to support their business objectives. Safety, Regulatory, Health and Environment Work with Well Servicing coordinator and attend monthly field visits to perform field inspections with consultants, vendors and complete Work Safe Observations on well servicing vendorsManage execution of annual pressure surveys, wellbore suspensions, inactive inspections, packer isolation testing and SCVF testingEnsure D60 and all other directives, regulations, IRPs are understood and adhered to across the district. Steward to AER inspection and guidelines such as D-60Be an active/visible/vocal/supportive participant and influence in staff and operations meetings and monthly safety meetings.Coordinate static gradients as required by production engineersWork with Calgary staff to co-ordinate and complete annual packer and segregation testing along with surface casing vent testsCoordinate annual suspended well inspections and initiate remedial action. Evaluate reactivation opportunities.Coordinate annual liquid/gas ratio tests, optimize procedure and costs and make applications for interval extensions (Area Specific Task) Business Process Controls and Related activities Ensure all field paper work is properly completed (invoices, operation reports, access reports, etc.); and that processes are in place to maintain consistent documentation and reporting/filing for projects.Adhere to business processes including AFE guidelines, Material transfers, procurement, invoicing, wellview, cost estimates, well down sheets, flaring notifications etc.Generate AFEs within area of responsibilityBudget, program all district well servicing operations.Work with chemical companies and implement/optimize wellbore/perforation chemical treatmentsReview generic work over programs with EITs to ensure technical details are accurate and completed and that economic criteria has been met.Assist operations with monitoring, optimizing and troubleshooting of all artificial lift systems, along with wax and chemical programs, and other technical problems where appropriate.May be required to complete other tasks to meet team business objectives as directed by your supervisor.Signing Approval Level 25 K. Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of operations/well servicing experience complemented by a technical diploma or degree.Has a broad knowledge of resources and uses this knowledge to build operations / maintenance plans.Valid Class 5 drivers license;Working knowledge of safety standards and environmental regulations and budget preparation experience;Able to deliver feedback directly and constructively; consistently receives feedback constructively.Clearly understands the implications of situations and uses sound judgment when deciding what to do.
