Production Technologist
Our Client is among the largest producers of oil and clean-burning natural gas in Colorado. They are currently in need of an experienced petroleum technologist with strong engineering and geoscience experience who will be responsible for supporting engineers and geologists in their daily activities. They will also be responsible for maintaining databases, implementing data quality control, and integrating large amounts of data for multi-disciplinary teams.
This position is located in Denver, CO as a member of the Wyoming/Utah/Land Grant Group.
 
Qualifications:

5-15 years relevant Oil and Gas experience, preferably in an engineering support role
Self-motivated individual with strong work ethic, who is highly motivated to complete projects ahead of schedule with strong attention to detail
Must have ability to successfully interact with other departments - internally and externally
Strong organizational skills and good interpersonal communication skills
Able to problem solve and work collaboratively: being a supportive team player is critically important - as well as being able to work independently
Knowledge of well data, production data and data systems, LAS, and directional surveys
Computer skills should include all Microsoft Office applications, specifically Microsoft Excel, and a demonstrated ability to learn new applications quickly
Experience with engineering and / or geoscience software and data sources is desired. Programs include Aries, Openwells, IHS, RSEG, SAP, OpenWorks/DSG, Geographix, Petra, ArcGIS/ArcMap, Global Mapper, IHS Enerdeq, TGS, state oil and gas commission websites
Good understanding of coordinate reference systems and transformations
Familiar with all digital data formats
Experience working with NonOp partners and preforming competitor analysis

 
Responsibilities:

Assist engineers and geologists with their daily work activities
Perform data quality control on various types of well / subsurface data
Research and correct data discrepancies to enhance project databases as well as pushing corrections to corporate technical databases
Assist in refining best practices for data handling
Update and maintain OpenWorks projects with incoming operated/non-operated/trade data
Help engineers and geoscientists with application support and data issues
Import/Export data to and from various software applications and data stores
Collaborate with other disciplines and/or departments on projects

 
Education:

High School Diploma or GED required; Higher Education is preferred
